The project was a proposal for the interior design of a rest house. The areas that required intervention were basically public areas, such as the kitchenette, living room, and courtyard. The aim was to create warm and welcoming interior spaces through lighting, final finishes of the floor, and furniture. Textures were used in the living room, and the carpet was selected to harmonize with the tone of the walls. In the courtyard, a space was designed that was completely fresh and suitable for socializing outdoors, with leafy plants and furniture placed throughout.

Minimalist Loft

An interior design proposal was developed for a space structured as a loft where zones were practically not defined by walls, but by its furniture. A monochromatic proposal was used for the final finishings and furniture so that the space appeared simple and fluent. The final finishings were in a balanced color to make the most of the natural illumination that came from the single floor-to-ceiling window. The only exception was a wall covered in black polished granite, which was the main element used to generate contrast.

The project required a remodeling of the exterior facade and a proposal for interior spaces so the house could be reorganized in a functional way. In addition, a proposition of interior design was developed that included the final finishes as well as the furniture of all the spaces. Another important aspect was that all the service networks of the building (electrical installation, gas, and hydraulic) were redesigned. Moreover, green technologies such as rainwater collection, solar heaters, and thermal insulation placement on walls and roofs were installed to make the house more energy-efficient.

Refurbishment of a Main Room

The project was a refurbishment of all the space in a main room which had access to a garden. Proposals for final finishing and furniture were developed, creating a space with a touch of minimalism but keeping a contrast with the final finishing. For example, the distinction between the coldness of the blue tone of the central wall where the TV and furniture are located, and the warmth of the wooden planks on the floor. Another remarkable thing was the special care taken to ensure natural illumination in the room. To achieve this, most of the walls and ceiling were painted white. Only in the case of the headboard was it decided to place a double wall of black marble in order to emphasize the space and at the same time provide indirect and decorative illumination along the perimeter. Laminated glass was placed on the screen along with a hidden door handle to appreciate the entire view. Finally, outside, it was decided to create a terrace with a wooden deck floor and a pergola formed by wooden pieces to create a little bit of shade.
